Mr. Thompson is a partner and focuses his practice on real estate and municipal finance. He represents entrepreneurial and institutional clients in a broad based real estate practice.  Mr. Thompson has extensive experience representing clients handling land use, zoning; entitlement and incentives matters including tax increment financing; and property assessment incentives.  In addition, Mr. Thompson represents owners of commercial, industrial and residential in challenging their property tax assessments before the assessor's office as well as the board of review of various counties including Cook, Lake and Will County.

Mr. Thompson also represents developers and property owners in the acquisition and disposition of property, including contract negotiations, due diligence, project financing, and leasing matters, as well as litigation related to real estate matters.  In addition, Mr. Thompson represents issuers, borrowers and underwriters in connection with public finance projects.

Mr. Thompson was elected Commissioner of the Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago.  He currently serves as Chairman of the Industrial Waste & Water Pollution Committee and the Monitoring and Research Committee and Vice Chairman of the Information Technology and Judiciary.  The MWRD represents 133 communities throughout Cook County with jurisdiction for sanitary and storm water management.

Mr. Thompson received his B.A. from St. Mary's University of Minnesota in 1991. He was awarded his J.D. from The John Marshall Law School in 1999. Prior to studying law, he served as a leasing representative for a major commercial real estate firm in Chicago.
