Restructuring, Insolvency And Bankruptcy Team Represents Firm At Central States Conference

Members of the Firm’s Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy team, Dave Welch, Brian Welch and Eric Bernard, represented the Firm at the American Bankruptcy Institute, Central States Workshop, June 13 – 16, in Traverse City Michigan.

This year, Brian was asked to be a speaker in one of the featured panel discussions.  

The panel was titled Benefits and Pitfalls to Restructuring, Recapitalizing or Selling Out of Court. Brian was on a panel of 5 speakers, including a Federal bankruptcy judge from Chicago, a financial advisor from Chicago, and two restructuring attorneys from Detroit engaging in a discussion about the alternatives to Chapter 11 bankruptcy (with a focus on the pros and cons of Federal and State law receiverships), and the various factors impacting the decision of debtors, secured creditors and other constituencies regarding the selection of a Chapter 11 bankruptcy or any of its alternatives.
