Burke, Warren Clients Nominated for Prestigious Restaurant Awards
At Burke, Warren, we value all our clients. We also value the talents of creative chefs and the food, beverages, and restaurants they create to delight our palates and other senses. That is why we take particular joy in congratulating three clients for their recent recognition as exemplars of culinary excellence and their nominations as finalists for the prestigious Jean Banchet Awards.
Named for the late chef who helmed the globally acclaimed Le Francais restaurant in Wheeling in the 1970s and 1980s, the Jean Banchet Awards honor the achievements of both established chefs and newcomers and are the only Chicago-based awards that recognize culinary originality and talent throughout the region.
The 2020 Banchet Awards will be bestowed at a ceremony and gala set for January 19, 2020, and the finalists announced on November 6 include Burke, Warren clients:
- Smyth (John and Karen Shields) – Restaurant of the Year; Best Restaurant Service, Best Sommelier
- Erick Williams (Virtue) – Chef of the Year; Best Restaurant Design
- Galit (Zachary Engel) – Best New Restaurant
These chefs and restaurants are all represented by David W. Silver, Of Counsel at Burke, Warren. Combining his legal practice with his passion for all types of food and beverages, David has developed a niche serving talented Chicago-area chefs as well as hospitality industry operators and investors. He provides them with sound counsel from the initial stages of identifying viable concepts through ongoing operations, including creating and structuring entities, preparing offering memoranda, negotiating leases, and advising on related matters.
Burke, Warren extends our kudos to the nominees and our colleague David. The firm is proud to play a role in facilitating these culinary endeavors and their ongoing success.
