Burke, Warren, MacKay & Serritella is pleased to welcome Partner Ahmed Kosoko and Associate Luca Giovine to the Firm’s Litigation group.

Ahmed is a seasoned litigator who brings twenty years of experience guiding clients through a wide range of disputes and investigations. Ahmed’s practice is focused in the areas of commercial litigation, general tort litigation, municipal liability, civil rights, criminal law and white-collar defense, constitutional law, and appellate practice. He leads clients through all phases of complex litigation with attention to obtaining favorable results while prioritizing efficiency.

Prior to joining Burke Warren, Ahmed founded Kosoko Law Group in Chicago, utilizing his experience in municipal law, governmental liability, criminal law, and general negligence to deliver practical and effective in-house counsel services to his clients. Additionally, Ahmed served as an Assistant Appellate Defender, Assistant State’s Attorney, and was also appointed as Special Assistant Corporate Counsel, working as outside counsel for the City of Chicago in the Civil Rights Division.

Luca represents business and commercial entities of all sizes in complex commercial disputes. He focuses his practice on navigating multifaceted commercial disputes on behalf of clients in a variety of industries. Luca brings several years of litigation experience in state and federal courts on issues ranging from breach of contract and deceptive trade practices to personal injury defense, delivering exceptional results at all stages of litigation.

Prior to joining Burke Warren, Luca served as an associate at a full-service Chicago law firm. He was regularly involved with the firm’s trial team and has served as a second and third chair in numerous trials. While Luca earned his J.D. at the University of Wisconsin Law School, he worked with the Family Law Project of Madison to help unrepresented family law litigants achieve equal access to the legal system. Luca also assisted with personal injury disputes and tenant and landlord matters on behalf of a Beverly Hills-based tenant rights firm. In addition, Luca served as a research assistant for the National Institute of Health on the HEALthy Brain and Child Development study. Luca’s experience also includes working as a tax intern for a Big Four accounting firm.
