Overview
The Appellate Practice Group at Burke, Warren, MacKay & Serritella includes a group of attorneys who provide a breadth of appellate experience. Our attorneys have successfully briefed and argued appeals in the Illinois Supreme Court, the Illinois Appellate Court, other state appellate courts, and federal courts of appeal.
We draw on this experience to help our clients make critical decisions about pursuing and defending appeals. To best position our clients for success, we partner with trial counsel to help develop the factual record and preserve issues for appeal. In addition, when issues require review before final judgment, we help our clients pursue interlocutory appeals and writ petitions. We also work with clients involved in administrative appeals, representing individuals and government agencies.
The Buke Warren Appellate Group enhances the overall litigation client service by:
- Leveraging established experience and expertise to shape and frame legal issues on appeal to ensure the best presentation to optimize the likelihood of a successful outcome;
- Keeping abreast of emerging trends, developments in the law and tracking novel issues to be in the best position to advise clients and develop strategies tailored to client and industry needs;
- Offering the Embedded Appellate Counsel protocol at the trial court level for clients facing significant litigation to ensure preservation of the record, development of appellate strategy; and
- Flexible fee arrangements that can include flat fees.
