Burke, Warren, MacKay & Serritella is excited to announce that Blake Roter, Co-Chair of the firm’s Insurance Recovery Practice Group and a member of the Litigation Practice Group, has been named to Law Bulletin Media’s “40 Under Forty” list of notable Illinois attorneys for 2024.

Chicago Daily Law Bulletin’s annual 40 Under Forty list recognizes talented young attorneys who were nominated by clients and peers based on their legal acumen, achievements, and service to the community at large. Blake was selected from a group of more than 1,000 nominations of lawyers throughout Illinois.

As a seasoned trial and appellate attorney, Blake counsels clients in all aspects of litigation in state and federal courts nationwide, from the initial factual investigation through mediation, arbitration, and trial. He has represented Fortune 500 companies, public and private institutions, middle-market businesses, and high-net-worth individuals in a wide range of complex commercial and insurance coverage disputes.

Blake also serves as Co-Chair of the firm’s Associate Mentoring Committee, where his commitment to associate training and professional development has ensured consistent learning and growth opportunities for young lawyers. He has also served for several years on the firm’s Business Development and Marketing Committee, playing a key role in shaping the firm’s brand and creating innovative approaches to business development and client service.

Nominators commended Blake for his exceptional ability to navigate complex issues while devising practical and effective strategies to reach favorable outcomes for his clients. “Blake is a lawyer who truly sees the forest through the trees,” one nominator said. “He always keeps his eye on the ultimate objective, a fair resolution of the dispute on terms that make sound business sense for the client.”

Blake joined Burke Warren as a Summer Associate in 2011. Following a term serving as the law clerk for Chief Justice Shirley S. Abrahamson of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, Blake returned to the firm where he has been a reliable asset since 2013.
