Joseph D. Frank and Jeremy C. Kleinman Join Burke, Warren, MacKay & Serritella’s Restructuring, Insolvency, and Bankruptcy Group
Burke, Warren, MacKay & Serritella is pleased to announce the addition of Partners Joseph D. Frank and Jeremy C. Kleinman to the Firm’s Restructuring, Insolvency, and Bankruptcy practice. Joe and Jeremy join Burke Warren after practicing at FrankGecker LLP in Chicago.
“We are thrilled to welcome Joe and Jeremy to the team as we continue to expand our services in the bankruptcy and restructuring space,” said Jeff Warren. “Their arrival reinforces Burke Warren’s already deep bench and strengthens our capabilities for our clients across all industries.”
Joe serves as bankruptcy counsel to some of the largest public and private corporations in the United States, providing daily guidance on both routine and complex bankruptcy matters. Appearing on behalf of clients in bankruptcy courts across the country, Joe represents creditors’ committees and asbestos claimants’ committees, and he has confirmed Chapter 11 plans on behalf of committees in bankruptcy courts in Delaware, Illinois, Missouri, Wisconsin, and New York. As a member of the Trial Bar for the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, Joe regularly represents bankruptcy trustees and creditors in bankruptcy court litigation, files Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases, and handles workouts for corporate debtors, including many real estate developers.
Jeremy’s practice is focused on the representation of secured and unsecured creditors, commercial landlords, creditors’ committees, trustees, and other clients in all stages of Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings. Additionally, Jeremy has extensive experience litigating preference and fraudulent conveyance avoidance actions, claim disputes, and other bankruptcy-related disputes. Outside of bankruptcy, Jeremy has also represented an assignee for the benefit of creditors and a state-court appointed receiver. With careful consideration of each client's specific objectives, risk tolerance, and overall business interests, Jeremy develops tailored and holistic approaches that account for the smallest details with the bigger picture in mind. Clients appreciate his candor and transparency, which allows them to make informed decisions about how best to proceed.
Joe and Jeremy will further diversify the Firm’s bankruptcy, insolvency, and restructuring services, led by Practice Group Chair David Welch and Vice Chair Brian Welch. “We are excited to have attorneys of their caliber with proven experience join Burke Warren,” said David. “Joe and Jeremy will provide a tremendous benefit to our practice and a valuable resource to our clients.”
